I am a huge fan of taking photographs especially on film or instant film! Back in 2013 for my 21st birthday my best friend Kristie got me a Polaroid camera and I was so happy about it! She knew how much I wanted one and I was over the moon, one of my most favourite gifts I’ve ever received! I felt like I was back in the 80s haha, we all know how much Sophie loves the 80s.
So in 2017 when Fujifilm released the Instax mini 9 I knew I had to get one as I seen a few people have them and thought they were super cool and really cute! I ended up getting myself a 2nd hand one on ebay and I have loved it through the years! My boyfriend Elliott and I take a photo of us every single month that we’ve been together so it’s a little tradition we have and it’s adorable. I have taken lots of photos in the past with family and friends and they are such treasured memories to keep and put up on the wall, in frames or into a photo album.
So I wanted to treat myself to the Fujifilm Instax square s6, it’s a stunning design with cool new features such as a selfie mirror to see yourself, self timer which will be super handy, especially for group shots! It also came with coloured filters to put on the flash which I think is a really cool feature, I haven’t got round to trying them out yet but I am excited to see how the photos turn out. I knew I wanted this camera as soon as I read up on it, my other one is pretty old and I think I prefer the size of the photos on this as they are bigger and square shape, more similar to the original polaroid photos. I went for the grey colour and I am so in love with it! Best purchase I have made recently, I treated myself whilst being in isolation.
The Fujifilm instax square s6 retails at around £110 and I usually get my film on eBay/amazon for a cheaper price so I definitely recommend shopping on there rather than official websites like Argos or Curry’s etc. I got 2 packs of 10 (so 20 photos) for £18 on eBay recently! If you love instant photography like me then you will not regret buying yourself one of these! I’ve always got a film camera, a disposable camera or my instax camera on me to captures those great memories, there is something special about them – much better than taking a million digital photos that you’ll never really look at!
Thanks for reading! Until next time!
